The other procrastination tool I've been using is Nethack. I finally ascended a monk the other day. It makes only the second win in six years of playing this game. I think I used eleven wishes, genocided thirty-two types of monsters, wished for two artifacts (the Eye of the Aethiopica and the Orb of Fate), was vegetarian, weaponless, and never changed form. And of course, the correct altar was the last one I chose, so I killed Death twice, Pestilence once, and Famine once. Mostly I relied on the priests to summon hordes of insects to surround me and keep away the Riders while I slogged my way to the altars. Two character classes down, only eleven to go... at this rate I should ascend all the classes by the time I'm sixty.
