    for those who don't know, Big Shug is like one of D.L's top 5 mc's EVER, and he's been depressed for like a decade that no album ever dropped. well it's coming brother!!!! maybe!!!!

  2. You know, the sad thing is that this 12" feel like it was just phoned in by all parties involved. It's a thoroughly mediocre joint all the way through - the Premier beat is decent, but not great, the Alchemist beat is this weird lazy 8-bar loop that goes nowhere, and Big Shug himself sounds like he ran out of ideas about halfway through the Alchemist track. I mean, I wasn't expecting a lot when I got the record mostly because while Shug spit a couple of decent guest verses for Gang Starr back in the day, he certainly wasn't a standout - it's been our little running joke for what, twelve years? - but this was a new exercise in mediocrity. Even the logo for Big Shug is a straight cop of the Gang Starr logo.
