playlist [27 June 2006]

Here is the playlist for the Vinyl Frontier, 27 June 2006. As an aside, if you have a Vestax 05Pro or other similar mixer that uses the DC-15A power adapter (15V, 500mA) you can actually replace it with a power adapter from Radio Shack (catalog number 273-1691). You'll probably need to bring the mixer in to the store to find out which Adaptaplug tip fits the mixer best (I think I have tip K, but I think L, M, and one other one also fit) and be sure to match the polarity correctly or you could blow out your mixer. Granted, you could just order an official Vestax replacement, but there are a lot more Radio Shacks than there are places that carry Vestax replacement power adapters...

  1. i heard this show for the first time on 6-27; i'm new to houston. Question for everyone out there: a song was played right before a break (right before dj started talkin)and in the artist said something about "my crocodile style or belly" or alligator style or belly. i know thats vague but the song was tight and i gotta get it. anyone help?

  2. where can i get a recording of the june 27th show? there was a track that came on at approximately 11:30 and the mc sounded a bit like J,z, but the beat was was in double time on the high hat and had a futuristic, retro sound. Whoever heard this track will know what i mean by the oxymoronic description. if anyone knows who this was, limewire will be on fire.

  3. What song had the chorus of "day dreaming of a porno star" or "day dreaming of a porn star"?

  4. Jason - I have no idea; I'm pretty bad with lyrics most of the time unless it's in the chorus. If you have an idea of what time I played it, I can go back through and look at the set list (or you can estimate that every 8-9 songs = 30 minutes).

David - no recording of the show, but if it was right at 11:30 (Central) then it was probably Autolect with "AKH Fantastic." If it was a little later (and more uptempo) then it was probably 7L & Esoteric (Esoteric is the MC) with "Play Dumb."

Scott - that song is "The Ballad of Adriana Sage" by Prozack Turner.
