comments coming back
In the interest of facilitating discussion, and to also not feel like I'm just typing into the ether, I'm going to try to bring back comments to this site. I've upgraded the software running the backend, so hopefully I won't have to deal with too much comment spam advertising for porn, pills, or poker. There may be some glitches in the beginning, as I have eliminated much of my css code and modified my templates, so bear with me. To start it off, maybe somebody can explain this sign I saw on a train car the other day...

It means you are not allowed to "hump" (i.e. fornicate) inside the train. DUH!
The train company is aware of the fact that the humpty dance is your chance to do the hump, but kindly requests you to refrain.
Here's the serious answer to what that "Do Not Hump" placard means on the freight car. Freight cars are sorted by rolling the cars down a hill -- called a hump -- where a series of switches direct them to a series of tracks where individuals trains are being assembled. Such a place is called a hump yard. If the freight car contains fragile cargo, rolling down the hump and slamming into the cars ahead of it can damage the cargo. Hence the warning, "Do not hump."
