falsecognate was actually born out of the red envelope parties. Basically, after the parties started, I decided that we were a 'crew' of DJs. We shared a common goal, and we were good friends, so why not? It was fun getting people who hired me to add "false cognate" to the bill.

People have asked me as to why we named our crew 'false cognate.' The only real answer I can give is that Alexei and I are slightly insane, and when you put too much alcohol into us, we come up with great ideas. We're going to take over the world one day, just wait and see...

We've not been so active in the last few months; school has taken Alexei and Leigh to New York City, and my research has kept me isolated in the lab. Andrew is in med school, and the rest of the kids at Chaucer House are certainly not as proactive about throwing parties. Keep an eye out, though; I've got some tricks up my sleeve...
