Peanut Butter Wolf

@ MFAH

Peanut Butter Wolf, aka Chris Manak, is someone I've been dying to see DJ one day. The founder of the Stones Throw record label, he deserves much of the credit for keeping underground hip-hop alive and well through the dark ages of the late 90's. And now through the subsidiary labels of Now-Again and Soul Cal, quality funk and soul tracks that were almost lost to the ages are being reissued.

Though much of his influence comes from finding and signing some of the best talent of the last decade (Madlib, Oh No, Breakestra, Lootpack, etc.), PB Wolf is a quality beat producer in his own right, and is a pretty ill DJ to boot. This event is in conjunction with the MFAH's Basquiat exhibit.
