Jeff, the DJ for the funk show on KTRU and one of the Waxploitation DJs, informs me that El Michels Affair will be playing at the Continental Club. They'll also be playing at an art opening at Diverseworks earlier in the evening. This band is basically the Dap-Kings, so you know it's going to be funky. They're not officially on tour - the three Texas dates are all that are slated - so catch them while you can, because they don't play out often.
