Now, I'm not super familiar with the work of Chris Whitley, but he was a fairly critically acclaimed singer-songwriter. Houstonians in my circle may know one of his works indirectly, as the bar Poison Girl was named after one of his songs. He passed away late last year due to complications from lung cancer.

Anyway, this tribute concert has a somewhat weird lineup, featuring Shawn Colvin, Charlie Sexton, guitar virtuoso Vernon Reid, DJ Logic, and more.
