The Houston Roller Derby league kick off their inaugural season this Sunday with the first set of matches between the four teams. This week will have the Machete Betties facing off against the Burlesque Brawlers, and the Psych Ward Sirens against the Bayou City Bosses. They've changed their venue to someplace closer in - they used to be out in Pasadena, but now they're skating at Arabia Shrine (2900 N. Braeswood). Doors @ 6pm, bouts start @ 7pm, and halftime entertainment is being provided by DJ Joe B. (of Rebel Crew) and the Z-Jammers.
