Houston Press 2006 Music Awards Showcase

The 2006 Houston Press Music Awards Showcase is downtown this Sunday night from 4pm - 10pm at a whole host of venues. Check out http://www.houstonpress.com/musicshowcase/2006/showcase.html for the full schedule. In no particular order, I recommend:

  • Drop Trio (jazz/funk)
  • The Jonx (mathy, intricate punk rock)
  • The Legendary KO (probably Houston's best underground hip-hop)
  • Fatal Flying Guilloteens (energetic, beer-fueled punk)
  • G.R.I.T. Boys (Houston-style crunk rappers)
  • DJ Ceeplus (who knows what he'll pull out)
