I didn't realize this - 500 Megatons of Boogie is a local band that features two of the members of the Squishees (formerly the Slurpees) but is a little more straight rock than the somewhat loose punk stylings of the Squishees. Also playing will be Golden Axe, who really ought to be playing in an arena - these guys can shred on a guitar like nobody's business - and the Jonx, whom I have described many times here and now the Houston press is finally catching up, with a review of their latest CD forthcoming in both the Houston Press and the Houston Chronicle.
