Holy crap. Jeffery Mac is a name that I have not heard in years. He used to lace some seriously buttery deep house and techno vibes back in the day. Apparently, he'll be the opening DJ for the next installment of the MFAH's mixed media series. Dunno what he's going to spin, but it's nice to see a Houston classic turn up again. Turns out he's got a weekly over at The Mink on Saturdays. Who knew?

Anyway, this time around, I'm a bit better informed about the art. It's a lovely exhibit by the Brazilian artist Hélio Oiticica, but you're probably going to want to go sometime during regular hours as well, as they had much of it roped off, preventing any sort of close inspection. It's an interesting exploration into color and texture using abstract forms and geometry, with some architectural elements thrown in as well. Lines were crazy slow last time, so either show up early or pray that they get more efficient this time around.
