The Red Elvises are an interesting act; a vestige of cold-war paranoia wrapped in some crazy surf rock. They were featured in an independent film called "Six-String Samurai" some years back as a post-apocalyptic crew of musicians who were one of the obstacles standing in the way of the main protagonist. Anyway, some of the members really are from former Soviet states and they have a uniquely Soviet take on surf rock. Check them out; they don't tour through very often.
