Mary Timony has a new solo project, the Mary Timony Band, and their first album appeared this year on Kill Rock Stars. Helium, one of her earlier projects, released a few albums in the mid-90's that were consistent KTRU favorites. She'll be supported by Houston's own Two Star Symphony, a string ensemble (usually a quartet) that plays their own original work. They're pretty phenomenal; I highly recommend checking them out.
