There's been a weird surge of retro-soul artists in the last few years, and one of the better unsung ones is Marc Broussard. In many ways the male counterpart of say, Amy Winehouse, Broussard is earnest in his performance. He does need to take a few steps to set himself apart from the greats whom he occasionally covers, but it's nice to see someone keeping the soul alive.
