So here's the deal, in plain old English:

Usage: A fair amount of effort goes into the production of this site. Therefore, you are not free to do whatever you want with it. Feel free to link - I can't stop you. However, if you want to reproduce any of these listings, in whole or in part, in another work (your website, print newspaper or magazine) you must either obey the terms described by the Creative Commons license under which this website is licensed (see the link in the sidebar) or contact me via email to discuss terms.

Submission policy: This guide is not intended in any way to be comprehensive. We are here to separate the wheat from the chaff. You can feel free to email us if you would like an event to be listed, but realize that we may choose, for whatever reason, to ignore your request. To increase the likelihood that we actually list your event, please be sure to:

  1. Write clearly, in properly formatted, capitalized, and punctuated English (good god, what has technology done to the language).
  2. Supply all relevant details - event title, date, time, performers, venue (including address, if we don't already have it).
  3. Provide contact information for both you and the event.
  4. Explain why we should list this event, and be more specific than "It's totally going to rock" or "These bands are rad." Feel free to point us in the direction of audio/visual samples.
  5. Did I mention that you should write clearly, in properly formatted, capitalized, and punctuated English?

Comment policy: Registration with TypeKey is not required to comment, but TypeKey authenticated comments will appear on the site immediately. Please keep comments on topic. In general, that means comment about the event or artists in question. Commercial comments, advertisements, and shameless plugs will be deleted. If you want to get info about your event out there, please see the submission policy above. Discussion is encouraged, but please keep your comments civil or they will be disemvoweled or deleted. While I believe in free speech, you do not actually have the right to free speech on my server.

Your email address will never be displayed on the website in any form (unless you put it in the body of your comment), so you don't have to worry about getting spam because you posted here (the spammers will just have to find another way of getting your address; I'm sure they're crying right now about it). Your email address will not be used in any way except if we need to contact you regarding a submission. It won't even be added to the weekly email list unless you explicitly request that it should be added.
