Warehouse Live is a brand new venue over on the east end of downtown, near Minute Maid Park. As the name suggests, it's a converted warehouse. There are two separate rooms; one with a capacity of around 300, and the other with a capacity around 1500. My understanding is that the two rooms can operate completely independently, although there is a passage linking the two, and the main bar sits between the two rooms (although it too has a divider that can be closed).
I finally managed to get over there the other day. I think it's a great space - well-designed (for the most part), clean, pretty decent acoustics (when full; haven't heard it empty yet), state of the art sound and lighting systems, etc. I think they're positioning themselves to be the premier mid-level venue in Houston. Security was maybe a little overzealous - I had to leave my customary two pens at the door - but that's better than being lax, I suppose.
Useful info:
- Address: 813 St. Emanuel St., Houston TX 77003 (St. Emanuel @ Rusk)
- Parking: streetside, large lot at rear of venue (might be a pay lot)
